About

The name WaterTurtle was given to Mac Barnhardt by his friends when learning to waterski at a young age. Mac is an athlete with a love for outdoor adventure sports and a particular passion for windsurfing, stand up paddle & outrigger canoe surfing/racing/downwinders, mountain biking, snow skiing, and hiking. When not actually doing these activities or capturing the action in pictures and video, he is planning the next adventure with his family or motley crew of fellow adventure misfits. Mac is married to his loving wife, Kris (who also has published photography as part of WaterTurtle Media and featured on this site), and together they raise three kids in the Carolinas.
